Plages et Ports Pavillon Bleu en Provence | Provence 7

Created by "Teragir" in 1985, Pavillon Bleu label is a yearly awarded Eco label. It rewards municipalities and marinas that maintain a permanent sustainable tourism development policy.

Hyères has been awarded the 2022 Pavillon Bleu label for the Saint-Pierre marina and for its beaches (l'Ayguade, l'Almanarre Nord, la Bergerie and Les Salins).
Le Pavillon Bleu label is now present in 46 countries on all continents and has become a reference in the fields of sustainable tourism, environment, and sustainable development.
It is a quality label for marinas based on four families of criteria:

  • Water management, both for bathing waters and wastewater treatments.
  • The overall quality of the environment: urbanism, facilities, waste management, landscape, etc.
  • Environmental and education initiatives : communication campaigns, public information.

As a guarantee of good environmental quality, when Le Pavillon Bleu is awarded to a city or marina it conveys a positive and dynamic image to residents and visitors. In this sense, it also promotes general awareness of a more respectful behavior towards nature and its resources.
Labeled marinas are places where environmental protection and marine conservation are a priority. Boaters have access to boat maintenance areas designed to prevent discharge into the natural environment- systems for recovering boat wastewater, as well as areas for recovering special waste. Blue Flag marinas and cities organize environmental activities to raise awareness among boaters and visitors about the fragility of the environment.
